The 2010 Fiat Doblo
I know, you’ve been waiting for the Fiat Doblo. The Doblo is another of those van based mini people carrier things, designed to transport as much as possible for as little outlay as can be managed. The name suits it (you could see Dobby the Elf behind the wheel) but if your need is to shift your brood and their belongings around as cheaply as possible the Doblo – just like the equally daftly-named Peugeot Bipper Tepee – could fit the bill.

Lexus claims its new LS600h hybrid will return 29.7mpg – despite having 444bhp on tap. The company has announced new details of its flagship hybrid, which gets a European premiere at September's Paris motor show. Lexus claims that the petrol/electric hybrid drivetrain offers the performance of a V12, but with V6 fuel economy and emissions.
Mercedes E300 BlueTEC Hybrid
Mercedes has revealed a pair of hybrid E-Class cars bound for a Detroit debut – the E300 BlueTec hybrid for Europe and E400 Hybrid for the US. All car maker are busy introducing hybrid platforms where they can, especially for their big-selling cars, and MB is no different, with a pair of new Mercedes Hybrid cars bound for a debut at next month’s Detroit Auto Show. The Mercedes E300 BlueTec Hybrid is the offering for Europe, although it wouldn’t be a huge shock if Mercedes eventually launched it in the US.
